Chick-Fil-A has been voted favorite restaurant for the eighth year and a row, and it has Twitter users up in arms.

While many people rushed to the social media platform to claim their love for Chick-Fil-A chicken, others rushed to make it political and to remind everyone what types of organizations the company supports.

Chick-Fil-A is a Christian business known for being closed on Sunday.

Founder, S. Truett Cathy once spoke about the decision to close on Sundays saying,

“One of the most visible examples of this is our decision to close on Sunday. Our decision to close on Sunday was our way of honoring God and of directing our attention to things that mattered more than our business.”

The company is also not supportive of gay culture. Many gay people have boycotted the restaurant over the years but that didn’t stop it from winning the title of America’s Favorite Restauarant.

Many users expressed their disdain for the restaurant on Twitter and warned other gay people and allies to avoid eating at the restaurant unless they were supporting their organizations and beliefs.

Other people defended the restaurant and said their food was good and their political or religious beliefs didn’t matter. Most people claimed that the restaurant had great customer service and quality food.

Chick-Fil-A has managed to hold the record for eight years, which means many people are either not interested in their opinions or are able to look past them in order to enjoy the food. How do you feel about the restaurant?

Spectrum Removes NFL Network From TV Packages For “Authorized Incorrectly”

Spectrum cable

Spectrum, reportedly the second largest cable internet provider in the United States with over 100 million customers in 41 states, has informed some customers that they will no longer receive NFL Network with their programming.

It is not a contractual issue between Spectrum and the NFL Network that is causing this situation.

Instead, Spectrum revealed that the customers should have never had NFL Network in the first place.

They described it as an error that has gone on for years and was only recently discovered weeks before the 2021 NFL season is set to kick off.

Ironically, the NFL Network is showing a lot of preseason games following the cancelled 2020 preseason so customers are more interested in the channel’s programming right now.

As expected, customers are angry and planning to shop for a new provider.

Of course, the helpful folks at Spectrum do provide an alternative which is costly.

That would be an upgrade to the Sports Pack package.

Customers who feel that their monthly bill is high enough are not happy about this either.

https://twitter.com/NoMalarkeyFL/status/1431012509243281420

https://twitter.com/LukeBK/status/1431934555968180227

Bad Timing And Even Worse Communication

As if the timing is not bad enough, it seems like Spectrum’s communication is even worse.

No one seems to understand what is happening.

What Should Have Happened

This whole process seems haphazard.

Spectrum should have done a better job reaching out to its customers and explaining this strange situation.

Instead of turning off the channels (NFL Network and NFL Red Zone) that customers had for years, the company should have offered a phased-out date for coverage.

If customers had the channels for 9 years, it seems like Spectrum should have allowed it through December 31, 2021 or some other arbitrary date.

With so many streaming apps and other options available to customers now, Spectrum did themselves a disservice with how this was discovered and handled.

As a result, they will definitely lose customers.

Maria Andrejczyk Auctions Tokyo Olympic Medal For Charity

Silver medalist Maria Andrejczyk of Team Poland stands on the podium during the medal ceremony for the Women’s Javelin Throw on day fifteen of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games at Olympic Stadium on August 07, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

The world needs to hear more stories like this.

Maria Andrejczyk, a javelin thrower from Poland, won a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Andrejczyk had plans for her medal; none of which people could have expected.

She put it up for auction and got $125,000 for it.

Andrejczyk planned to donate all of the proceeds to a fundraiser for an 8-month-old Polish child named Miłoszek Małysa.

He is dealing with a serious heart defect that required surgery and care.

His family could not afford the health care expenses or the travel costs.

The necessary surgery has to be done at Stanford University Medical Center in California.

Pay It Forward

Think this is the ultimate pay-it-forward gesture?

Well, the story does not end here, and more generosity followed.

Andrejczyk put the medal up for auction on August 11 with a starting bid of $50,000.

She ended the auction on August 16.

Andrejczyk said:

“I decided to end the auction so that our Miłosz would receive the entire amount as soon as possible and could fly to the USA.”

Żabka, a Polish supermarket chain, won the auction, and in the ultimate act of double charity, the business returned the medal to Andrejczyk and donated the $125,000 bid to the boy’s medical care.

For her part, Andrejczyk had no problems parting with the medal.

She said:

“The true value of a medal always remains in the heart. A medal is only an object, but it can be of great value to others. This silver can save lives, instead of collecting dust in a closet. That is why I decided to auction it to help sick children.”

About Andrejczyk

It is not as though she had Olympic medals sitting around.

Competing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics was a huge accomplishment for her, and winning a silver medal an even bigger one.

She was within striking distance at the 2016 Rio Olympics, falling two centimeters short of medaling.

On top of that, the 25-year-old Andrejczyk had her own health issues in the past few years.

First, a shoulder injury that required surgery and rehabilitation limited her ability to compete in 2017.

In 2018, she was diagnosed with bone cancer.

She described her condition after the fact.

“It was not something very dangerous and I knew I could make a quick recovery. It was a soft cancer and I didn’t have to go through chemotherapy.”

There has been no word from the boy’s family or Stanford if a date for the surgery has been set.

Both Andrejczyk and the Polish supermarket chain Żabka show all of us what generosity looks like and how it can potentially change someone’s life.

Bill Cosby To Invoke Fifth Amendment In Civil Case

Actor and comedian Bill Cosby returns to the courtroom after a break with his spokesman Andrew Wyatt at the Montgomery County Courthouse, during his sexual assault trial sentencing in Norristown, Pennsylvania, U.S. September 24, 2018.

Even though Bill Cosby was released from a Pennsylvania prison earlier this year after spending more than two years behind bars, he is not free and clear.

His legal troubles are not over.

Cosby’s criminal offenses took top priority while a civil case filed in California has been waiting to be resolved.

Judy Huth filed the civil suit in 2014.

She alleged that Cosby sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974.

Huth was just 15 years old at the time of the assault.

According to Huth, the incident happened one week after meeting Cosby.

He allegedly gave her and a teenage friend pills and alcohol while they were playing pool.

Cosby then told Huth and her friend to lie about their ages when he took them to the Playboy Mansion.

Cosby’s Attorneys Plans

Attorneys for Bill Cosby have already revealed that he plans to plead the Fifth Amendment in this case.

His attorneys also have an issue with the statute of limitations.

In 2020, California civil law was amended to allow childhood victims to seek recompense over old events.

The amended law requires the victim to sue upon becoming an adult and within five years of becoming fully aware of the psychological injury caused by the sexual assault.

Previously, his attorneys viewed this civil suit as “defamatory” and “discredited”.

What It Means

Cosby is 84 years old.

He faces an uphill battle clearing his name given the number of victims who have come forward in recent years to accuse him of sexual assault.

His attorneys are trying to save him money in payouts for civil cases like Huth’s.

Huth is being represented by Gloria Allred, a well-known attorney and advocate for female victims of sexual assault and misconduct.

Allred previously said that Cosby will not be able to invoke the fifth amendment so more legal maneuverings on both sides are expected.

Alfred Hitchcock’s only child, daughter Patricia, has died at the age of 93.

She died on Monday, August 9, 2021 at her home in Thousand Oaks, California.

No cause of death has been announced.

Patricia was born in London in 1928, but her parents moved to California in 1939.

She always wanted to be an actress so it was only natural that she would act in some of her father’s most legendary films.

Here are 3 things to know about Patricia Hitchcock.

1. Best Known For Her Role In Psycho

https://twitter.com/cinemaspection/status/1425552835769425921

She is best known for her role in the 1960 classic Psycho.

Patricia played Janet Leigh’s coworker and offered her a tranquilizer in that memorable scene.

However, this is the third of her father’s movies that Patricia acted in.

She was in the 1950 film Stage Fright and the 1951 movie Strangers on a Train.

Patricia also appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock Presents television series from 1955-1960.

2. Credited Her Mother For Dad’s Career

Patricia was never shy about giving her mother Alma ample credit for her father’s success.

In the 1997 documentary entitled The Making of ‘Psycho, Patricia said:

“My mother was the one who really was in on everything from the very beginning. When he would find a story that he was anxious to do, he would have her read it. If she didn’t think it would make a picture, he didn’t touch it. Then she would be the first one to read the treatment and the screenplay, and she was even in on a lot of the casting, too.”

In 2003, she co-wrote a biography about her mother called: Alma Hitchcock: The Woman Behind The Man.

3. Stayed Out Of The Public Eye To Raise Her Family

Patricia largely retreated from doing acting projects in the 1970s to raise her family.

She did appear in some movies of the week including: Skateboard, Six Characters in Search of an Author, and Ladies of the Corridor.

Patricia married Joseph O’Connell Jr. in 1952, and the couple had three daughters: Mary Alma Stone born in 1953, Teresa “Tere” Carrubba born in 1954, and Kathleen “Katie” Fiala born in 1959.

O’Connell died in 1994.

Rest in peace Patricia Hitchcock O’Connell.

Alex Cord: Airwolf Star Dies At 88 (3 Things To Know)

Actors Alex Cord, Everett Sloane (1909 - 1965), and Sheila Allen (1932 - 2011), starring in the comedy play 'The Umbrella' at the Harold Pinter Theatre, formerly known as the Comedy Theater, London, UK, 28th May 1963.

Alex Cord, best known for his role on the 1980s television show Airwolf, died on Monday, August 9, 2021 at his home in Valley, View Texas.

Cord’s character, Michael Coldsmith Briggs III also known as Archangel, appeared in 55 episodes of the hit show.

He was 88 years old.

No cause of death has been revealed.

Cord had an interesting life and career.

In fact, his real life persona was more interesting than some of the colorful characters he played.

Here are three things about Alex Cord most may not know.

1. Cord Is A Stage Name

In his earliest acting jobs, Alex Cord is listed by his birth name Alex Viespi.

He changed his name so that he did not have to continue spelling out his last name.

Obviously, Cord is simpler to spell.

Though many believed otherwise, the chosen name was inspired by a friend and not from a character in the 1964 movie Carpetbaggers.

Cord is best known for Airwolf, but he had many other roles including television appearances on The Six Million Dollar Man, Police Story, The Love Boat, Murder, She Wrote, Fantasy Island, and Walker, Texas Ranger.

He was also an accomplished author who penned several novels.

2. Overcame Polio As A Child

Born in New York, Cord was diagnosed with polio at the age of 12.

He spent a lot of his youth in a hospital suffering from iron lung.

His family relocated to Wyoming where a doctor recommended that Cord take up horseback riding to help combat the effects of polio.

By the time Cord turned 16, he was fully recovered from polio.

From this point on, Cord’s entire life was consumed by a love of horses, and at one point, he had aspirations of being a professional jockey but at nearly 6′ tall, he was deemed too tall for the job.

3. Multiple Marriages

Cord was married three times and had three children.

Not much information is known about his first wife though his son Wayne was born to her.

His second marriage lasted over 20 years to actress Joanne Pettet.

A son Damien was born from this marriage.

He died of an overdose in 1995 at the age of 26.

His third marriage was to Susannah Boye-Moller Cord, a horse trainer.

It was a 15-year union that ended in divorce in 2017.

Cord also had a daughter Toni Aluisa to girlfriend Mary Ann Hutchinson.

He loved horses and women and spoke in an interview about how similar they were.

Cord once said:

“Personality and character traits in horses are as clearly defined as in women and before you can get along with a horse, you have to work out an understanding, a relationship with it. Same with women.”

“It takes a lot of understanding to get along with a horse, just as it does with a woman. If you make the wrong move with a horse, you can be bucked off. If you make a mistake with a woman, it can cost you a fortune.”

Rest in Peace Alex Cord.

Markie Post: Night Court Actress Dies At 70 (3 Things To Know)

Markie Post, a 1980s sitcom sweetheart known for many roles including public defender Christine Sullivan on Night Court, has died.

Post died in California on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the age of 70.

She had been battling cancer for nearly four years.

Her family issued a statement saying:

“But for us, our pride is in who she was in addition to acting; a person who made elaborate cakes for friends, sewed curtains for first apartments and showed us how to be kind, loving and forgiving in an often harsh world.”

In addition to leaving behind a husband and two children, Post’s legacy of television and film work lives on.

Here are 3 things to know.

1. She Broke Into Show Business On Game Shows

Post originally worked behind the camera as a game show producer in the 1970s on the series Double Dare with Alex Trebek.

She eventually ended up onscreen in the late 1970s as a card dealer on Card Sharks.

2. The Fall Guy Came Next

In 1982, she landed the role of bail bondswoman Terri Michaels on The Fall Guy.

She appeared on the series in three of its five seasons for a total of 65 episodes.

Post was no stranger to television series in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

She also logged appearances on CHiPs, The Incredible Hulk, Cheers, Fantasy Island, Hotel, The Love Boat, Hart to Hart, and The A-Team.

3. After Night Court, She Continued To Work

Night Court ran from 1984-1992.

Post’s career did not end after that iconic role.

She worked in both film and television after the show wrapped.

Post played Mary’s mom in the 1998 film There’s Something About Mary.

She also acted on Scrubs from 2002-2006 and Chicago PD from 2014-2017.

Post did voice work for Transformers Prime, an animated series that ran from 2010-2013.

Tributes

She had a long career and was never typecast despite her tremendous popularity on Night Court.

Her colleagues and friends took to social media to share their love for Post.

John Larroquette of Night Court fame described her tremendous beauty, kindness, and talent.

Another Night Court costar, Marsha Warfield, said:

“She has been, and will be, described as perky, bubbly, sweet, etc. And she was. But, she was also real, caring and kind. I never heard a cross word from, to, or about her. Because of our shared love of game shows, we were on set playmates,” Warfield wrote. “You hear actors saying their casts were a family, but on Night Court, the whole crew was family. I was adopted late, but I never doubted that I was family too. Markie was a big reason for that. She was our welcome lady, or whatever you call that person who shows up at your door with a pie and a smile the first day you move in the neighborhood. I never got the pie, but the smile was bright enough to make you forget pie was a thing.”

Lee Majors, whom she worked with on The Fall Guy, said:

“Was special and can never be forgotten. I had the great pleasure of working with her over the years which was a blessing in my life. Sending prayers of peace, strength, comfort and love to her family.”

Rest in Peace Markie Post.

1. A Physical Actor Involved In Iconic Fight Scenes

Smith was involved in a fight scene alongside Clint Eastwood in the 1980 movie Any Which Way You Can.

His character was a boxer named Jack Smith.

The scene was long but choreographed well.

The fact that neither Smith nor Eastwood used body doubles for the scene was confirmed by Smith in a 2014 interview.

He said:

“It has to be one of the longest two-man fights ever done on film without doubles.”

10 years before this scene, Smith had another legendary fight scene with Rod Taylor in Darker Than Amber.

That one was so realistic that both Smith and Taylor suffered injuries during the filming of it.

Smith had three broken ribs, and Taylor had a broken nose.
